Thanks for stopping by! My goal with this newsletter is to surface the best bottles available online. Which begs the question: How do I define best?
The wines I love have real people behind them. They may be scrappy upstart in Santa Cruz, or sixth-generation winemakers in Spain. I want wines that speak to a specific sense of place, and to a clearly articulated vision.
The wines I gravitate to tend to have lower alcohol, 13.5% and under, though I’m not dogmatic about it. I also value brands that are doing their part on environmental sustainability and will prioritize producers who are practicing organic or biodynamic.
Finally, I love a good value. This means wines that overdeliver for their price. I find a lot more joy in sharing a kick-ass bottle that’s under $20 than I do in trodding through the well-worn territory of luxury wines. So you’ll find me focusing in on smaller producers and sub-$30 bottles, along with some splurge-worthy finds.
